Howard Norman Barkley III called himself Norman, some called him "B", and I used my nickname Susie. He was like the brother I never had to my sister, Linda and I. He would drive over to our house and pick us up "to go get a coke", drive thru Jack in the Box, or go to Lowe's drive in outdoor theater. Band was fantastic because we both played bass clarinet, and knew how to make me laugh,with such an intelligent and hilarious sense of humor. He graduated with honors from UT Austin. Lord...I still miss him. Taken too soon.
The only year that I attended Bellaire was in my senior year. We had some classes together and became very good friends. We had a lot of laughs and fun. I found out at the 10 yr. Anniversary from his mom that he had passed away. He was a beautiful person, taken too soon. He is at peace.
Norman was a sweet, kind hearted guy and so funny! We attended a few dances together including a Belle Ball, oys for Tots dance, and a NDM dance ( Never a Dull Moment) social club.He had the best smile and beautiful blue eyes. Gone way too soon. Yes, at peace .
