Gary was a kind and generous soul. Creative, intelligent and loving. He died n another plague year that was full of misinformation and fear. He came out his freshman year at college. When he was in town I would go with him to the clubs. I remember the Farm on Westheimer. The building is still there. The first time we went the re were many men dancing and off to the sides the women dancing together and then this mixture of folks in the middle. A man asked me to dance. Gary faked a little indignance that he didn't get asked first, after all it was a gay bar.

We continued to stay in contact by phone or email and would get together in person. I was able to see him in San Francisco . Our last visit he had his AIDS diagnosis.. He was tired but we managed to enjoy the  visit.

He was an only child. His mom lived in a small house on Maple.

I still have a lovely pottery vase he made .

I miss him.
