BOBBY SCHMIDT born Robert Neal Schmidt, Jr . born on September 19, 1953 in Houston, Texas passed away on October 9, 2008 after a courageous fight with cancer. He resided in Fulshear, TX for the past 25 years with his beloved wife Nancy of 33 years. There they raised their two children Megan 23 and Robert III 20, who were the love of his life. Bobby was a graduate of Bellaire High School. He was the owner of Commercial Boiler Service, Inc. in Houston, TX. He was a member of Plumbing Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors Association (PAMCA) and Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) where he served as president of both. In his younger years he enjoyed racing top fuel cars and midgets and served as president of Texas Outlaw Midget Auto Racing Association (TOMARA). He was a long time member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, serving as a Director of the show and past Chairman of the Judging Contest Committee. Bobby was a proud member of the Tejas Vaqueros for the past 25 years and became Director of the organization this year. He was an endowed member of the Jacque de Molay Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite. He was involved in Valley Lodge Trail Ride Association where he served as trail boss and a member of the board. He also rode with the Ranchers Ride for several years. In his spare time he loved to go hunting and fishing with his family and to tinker in his shop on projects. He is survived by his wife Nancy, children, Megan and Robert III ; sisters, Sharon Schreiber and Debra Patton (Mike) of Richmond; sister-in-laws, Carol Mills and Susan Brown (Greg) both of Houston; father-in-law, Lee Blacker; nephews, Vince Converse, Jason Demshar (Meghan), Chris Jones and Benjamin Schreiber; nieces, Kristina Newlon (Mike), India Mills and Samantha Brown; as well as, many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers, Robert Schmidt, III, John McCaine, Bruce Eshelman, Joe Peck, Kenny Williams, and Chris Eshelman. Honorary Pallbearers, Tejas Vaqueros and Directors of Houston Livestock and Rodeo. The family would like to acknowledge the compassion, warmth and outstanding care received from Dr. Dan Lehane and his staff, Tina and Linda and the wonderful staff of Methodist SICU. A special thank you to his aunts Katherine and Rosa. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, October 13, 2008 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in the chapel at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Interment at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
